Born in 1989 in San Diego, Murphy lives and works in Los Angeles, USA. Predominantly in an idiom of straightforward comic realism, much of the material is rooted in autobiographical experience: “The work derives from my undergraduate thesis work in 2012. This was a period in my life when, although I was surrounded by Abstract Painters, Gender-Identity-Performance-Artists, Minimalists, Print Makers, Lifestyle Photographers, Net Artists, CGI Pornographers, and more, I was all alone in a philosophical contemplation which itself focused on metaphysical loneliness.“
